Entering Mainland Ecuador

You will need a negative COVID test result to enter Ecuador. The country no longer accepts the rapid-antigen testing that allowed many to travel with little planning as proof of health for entering the country. You’ll need to get an RT-PCR test within three days of your trip or documentation that certifies you have received all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. (The certificate must be valid for at least 14 days before the flight).

If you have a negative RT-PCR test result but show symptoms of COVID 19.  A rapid antigen test (nasopharyngeal swab) will be carried out.

If the results are negative, you’re free to continue on your trip. If it’s positive, you’ll have to isolate it for 10 days in a lodging place at your expense.
